This innovative device was designed to appeal to the custom motorcycle owner. Most custom cycles are designed to attract attention - this unit certainly helps to achieve that goal. In normal use, it operates as a traditonal type of instrument, displaying time / date, air temperature, engine temperature, and electrical system voltage. When the bike is parked up or on display however it transforms its functionality to display videos, images and text - all user-configurable through support software written to run under windows. Upload of new content is done by converting to a format suitable for use on the device, and uploading using a built-in communications link.
The display on the device is an extremely up-to-date OLED type. This new display technology is bright enough to be seen in daylight, has a wide viewing angle, and sports an extremely low power consumption, allowing the device to operate for long periods without draining the battery.
Note that the housing shown in these pictures is CNC-machined and polished in my engineering facility.
As a means of catching the eye and making the owner's machine 'stand out from the crowd' it certainly fits the bill!
